One logo that will identify all the cultural, commercial and touristic appointments in the cities during Expo 2015 and a co-ordinated events programme, managed by a sole interlocutor. This is the objective of the guidelines of “Expo in the city”, the deal between the City Council and the Chamber of Commerce of Milan which will be active in the coming months.
“This agreement will allow all operators interested in organising events and dates during the period of the Expo2015 to have one interlocutor, which will make the relation between demand and offer much easier and will contribute to making faster the leasing of spaces and public areas”. As explained by the Councillor of Commerce, Productive activities and Tourism, Franco D’Alfonso. He adds: “Thanks to the collaboration of the Triennale of Milan we intend to create a place for “Expo in the city” that will allow all citizens and tourists to have an easy identification of all the events that the cultural, artistic and commercial scenes have to offer during the whole period of the exhibition”. The aim of “Expo in the city” is that of uniting, valuing and facilitate all the initiatives that will be held outside of those events planned within the exhibition premises of the Universal Exhibition – declared Andrea Chevallard, Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce of Milan. – It is necessary to invest on the “fuori salone” model so as to involve the whole city in the 2015 event and offer the best opportunities possible to the companies’ system. May I point out that according to a recent research by the Chamber of commerce, Expo – from 2012 to 2020 – will bring an income of about 23 billion Euros, 4 of which in tourism”.
At the center of the action is the creation of an ad hoc logo and a corporate image for “Expo in the city” which will allow tourists, locals and city users to identify immediately all the appointments and events related to Expo 2015 that will take place in the squares, in the parks and in all public and private spaces. The creation and sharing of a unique and geographic-reference catalogue of events is being planned and will be available for consultation on existing websites, such as the Tourism website of the City of Milan, or also through smartphones, tablets and other platforms, thanks to the development of a specific App.
The collaboration between the City Council and the Chamber of Commerce also sees the creation of an online catalogue of the “temporary spaces available” for exhibitions, activities and events thus facilitating the demand and offer union. An information service on the methods of acquisition of authorisations and permits for the use of spaces and for the organisation of initiatives and events by different realities, including companies, that will want to animate the territory before and during Expo 2015.
