Giorgio Squinzi, President of Confindustria, and Diana Bracco, President of Expo 2015 and Commisioner for the Italian Pavillion, have a collaboration agreement for the participation of Confindustria at Expo 2015 . Confindustria thus becomes institutional partner of the Italian Pavillion: it can contribute to develop the theme of Expo "Feed the Planet, Energy for Life" by creating a series of initiatives within the Italian Pavillion, promoting productions and technologies of the Italian industries, collaborating on edu-cultural projects about sustainable nutrition and setting up a permanent exhibition. "We have believed in Expo ever since the beginning as the first great event that can contribute to the relaunch of the Country. It is an occasion not to be lost to promote Italy and the Made in Italy in the world, a great challenge that we will support with all our might. In 316 days' time the gates will open. What visitors will see will not be simply a big thematic exhibition: it is Italy that wants to succeed. With Expo the Italian industry will make the world "hungry"." Says Giorgio Squinzi, President of Confindustria.
Diana Bracco. President of Expo 2015 and Commissioner of the Italian Pavillion added: "The fact that Confindustria has decided to hold its General Meeting of 2015 specifically in Milan during Expo has an extraordinary symbolic meaning. The partnership with Confindustria is particularly important even because it will allow to show the world a modern Italy, able to build the future counting on research and innovation."
The permanent exhibition "Desirable Food", particularly, will be one of the main attractions of the Italian Pavillion in the six exhibition months. It will be curated by the Science and Technology Museum of Milano (MUST) according to the guidelines of Marco Balich, Artistic Director of the Italian Pavillion, will develop on two floors covering a total surface of 900 msq. The set-up will be projected to attract creatively, but punctually, visitors from all over the world with a highly emotional technological itinerary that will help live the complexity of the entire agroindustrial food chain: from the seed in the field to the product in the plate. Next year the Confindustria Exhibition site will organise also some events. The first will be its General Meeting, that after 60 years it will move from its historic location in Rome to Expo. Again, Confindutria and its associations will contribute to the initiatives of the Italian Pavillion dedicated to start-ups and innovation and will collaborate in the organisation of bilateral international (B2B) meetings to promote business with the foreign delegations that will be hosted.
