Objective: To create a network through which members can share their experiences, discuss common themes and find solutions. These are the important premises with which World Expo Commissioners Club, the association reserved for the Commissioners of the host Countries of Expo Milano 2015 and their collaborators, is created.
World Expo Commissioners Club (WECC), has been officially presented at Piazza Duomo 21, the exclusive location of Alessandro Rosso Group that has presented also the first headquarters of the network and the base for presentations, meetings and conferences. At the debut many personalities where present: the Mayor of Milan Giuliano Pisapia, the Mayor of Turin Piero Fassino, the Commissioner Delegate of the Government for Expo Milano 2015 and the Chief Executive Officer of Expo 2015 SpA Giuseppe Sala as well as many founder members.
World Expo Commissioners Club has been founded last April by will of a group of diplomats, businessmen, managers and institutional officials working on the Universal Exhibitions. Among these, names such as that of Alessandro Rosso, President of Alessandro Rosso Group, the company which has already in the past supported the activities of Expo starting from Expo Shanghai 2010, Ayman Ibrahim Al Afifi, President of Butterfly Abu Dhabi, man of Emirate relations and international communications, James Chiang, “Father of EXPO”, important Sino-American personality and one of the creators of Expo Shanghai 2010 and the Ambassador Gustavo Moreno, ex-Dean of the Consular Corps of Milan and now Consul General of Argentina in Milan.
WECC will open its premises, with characteristics and quality standards equal to the Milanese headquarters, in Astana (Kazakistan) where the international edition of 2017 will be held, and in Dubai which has won the next Universal Exhibition in 2020. At the moment there are considerations for potential seats in Turin, Venice and Florence, so as to allow members to get to know the Italian territory better.
