A new record for Expo 2014 S.p.A.: the company has infact obtained the certification for compliance for international standard of ISO 20121:2012 of its Management System for the Sustainability of the Event. The certification has been released to the Expo 2015 company by the third party DNV GL. certification authority. This is the first Universal Exhibition organisation and the second event of international importance, after the London Olympics of 2012, to have developed a formal and recognised system of analysis and management of the themes linked to sustainability.
"Expo Milano 2015 - stated the Chief Executive Officer of Expo 2015 S.p.A. Giuseppe Sala - intends to promote an international, educational, cultural experience, of sharing for all visitors and participants, favouring dialogue among the various citizens of the Planet and contributing to strengthen co-operation between cultures. We are very committed to use tools that can help best manage our environmental, social and economic performances for the Universal Exhibition that is about to open in a few months time. Thus, I am very satisfied about the important award that has been given to the Expo 2015 company by an external certification authority: our Management System for the Sustainability of the Event, for planification activities, is compliant to the international standard ISO 20121:2012 and allows us to continue to aim for efficiency, participation and transparency towards the external world, which are important objectives for Expo Milano 2015."
To emphasize the commitment of Expo Milano 2015 has towards the environment is also the publication of the second edition of the Sustainability Report. What will open in May will be, in fact, the first Universal Exhibition to be equipped with a tool that will allow it to monitor all the activities that will take place on this aspect.
