Eleven associate congresses and seven corporate events (18 in all), for a total of 17,000 delegates and 43,00 attendees with an economic impact on the area accounting for an estimated 13 to 21 million Euros. These are the figures published by the Turismo Torino e Provincia regarding events acquired in 2012, thus showing that the capital of Piedmont is becoming an increasingly popular MICE destination.
Congresses acquired until now include the SIC Congress (Italian Surgery Society), to be held from 13 to 16 October 2013 with 1,500 delegates; the SIF Congress (Italian Society of Pharmacology) scheduled to be held from 23 to 26 October 2013 with 1,000 participants; the Bio Europe Spring Conference which will take place from 10 to 12 March 2014 with a predicted attendance rate of 1, 800 individuals and the SINPF Congress (Italian Society of Neurophysics and Pharmacology) scheduled to be held in 2014 with a predicted attendance of 1,000 individuals.
Conversely, Turismo Torino e Provincia presented nine candidacies including one to host the World Chambers Congress 2015, assignation of which is scheduled for 26 November.
