From 13 to 16 November, a group of representatives of eleven Chinese tour operators were the guests of an educational tour organized by Turismo Torino e Provincia in collaboration with the Turin Chamber of Commerce and the Italy-China Foundation.
The aim of the initiative was to provide information about the Piedmont capital and its surrounding areas as well to allow the group to gain insight into what the region has to offer in terms of tourism, culture, art and hospitality.
The first day of the program included a visit to the city and its icons, starting from the Mole Antonelliana and the Egyptian Museum; it then continued with a site inspection of two, four star, hotels, the Grand Hotel Sitea and the Golden Palace Hotel, and ended with a cookery course at Maison Massena which involved learning how to make pizza and Italian desserts.
The second day was dedicated to discovery of the Langhe and Roero area, with a tour of the city of Alba, renowned for its wines and truffles, and Barolo, from which the world-famed wine takes its name, where the group had a chance to visit WiMu, the Wine Museum located at Barolo’s Castello Comunale Faletti.
On the third day, following a visit, in the morning, to the magnificent Reggia di Venaria, the Chinese operators were treated to a guided shopping tour, followed by sightseeing in the Lingotto district with a visit to Eatitaly, the innovative Italian food and wine emporium, and a visit of the NH Lingotto Tech hotel.
After meeting the mayor of the city, the last day ended with a visit to the FIAT industrial complex.
