During the NH Italia by Mice event, designed to provide information and the latest updates about the chain’s meetings and events sector, Marco Gilardi , MICE manager of NH Italia, explained that the group is focusing on an increasingly strategic MICE segment for the NH Hotels group.
In 2011, NH Italia boasted 35,000 bids for events with 13,000 actually being implemented. 2012 is likely to see an increase in view of the fact that, already, in September, the group counted as many as 33,000 bids.
Loads of new initiatives were announced for the MICE segment, starting with the opening, next year, of a new Congres complex in Milan, the NH Milano Congress, a four star hotel offering 193 rooms and 11 meeting rooms.
In addition to restyling of the Meeting and Events section of the website, a centralized booking system for meeting rooms will be set up to coordinate and manage requests sent to the four offices scattered throughout Italy.
Other initiatives proposed will include the launch of a new formula, the NH Meeting Moments, which will be presented at EIBTM in Barcelona together with a loyalty-building program dedicated to MICE, scheduled to become operative next year, which will thus serve as an addition to the NH World Card currently boasting two million members.
