The Monastero Santa Rosa Hotel & Spa on the Amalfi Coast and the Castello di Casole in Casole d’Elsa, in Tuscany, both of which opened their doors this year, are the two Italian hotels, named among the 10 Hot new European hotels 2012 in the list drawn up by TripAdvisor, the well-known travel website that assists customers in gathering travel information. The two venues received a high score for service and the amenities offered, by TripAdvisor travellers.
Located in Conca dei Marini, just a short distance from one of the most beautiful areas on the Amalfi Coast (Amalfi, Positano and Ravello), the Monastero Santa Rosa Hotel & Spa is an old nuns’ convent dating back to the 17th century, now transformed into a luxury hotel. The venue has 20 suites, one different from the other, each named after the herbs grown in the nuns’ vegetable garden, from which guests can enjoy a breathtaking view over the Gulf of Salerno. On-site leisure amenities include a Spa with an exclusive Spa suite measuring 80 square metres, a restaurant and numerous indoor and outdoor spaces, including its sloping terraces and its vanishing-edge-infinity pool, for all types of events or ceremonies.
Set in the heart of Tuscany, on the grounds of an estate featuring 4,200 hectares of hills, wide valleys, vineyards and Tuscan olive groves, just a stone’s throw from Florence, Siena and San Gimignanon, the Castello di Casole offers 41 suites, available in a range of shapes and sizes. Several of the suites are housed in the main building while the others are situated in the former ecclesiastic lodgings and old farmhouses. The complex offers a number of well-appointed spaces for events and weddings,capable of accommodating up to 200 people, a luxuruous SPA, swimming pools and a fitness centre.
