Alitalia inaugurates direct flights from Rome Fiumicino to Abu Dhabi

On 4 December, the Italian airline inaugurated its new direct flight from Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci airport for Abu Dhabi in code-sharing with Etihad Airways. Alitalia is the only carrier to serve this new destination, one of the most important hubs in the world, from Rome.  This new connection will enable the Italian flag carrier to increase its offer to many important tourist destinations across Australia, Thailand, Oman, Bahrain and South Africa.

The Rome Fiumicino - Abu Dhabi connection will involve four weekly flights (with departures from Rome on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays), using Alitalia’s new Airbus A330 aircraft, offering three service classes, Business Class Magnifica, premium economy Classica Plus and Economy upgraded to offer comfort and attention to detail.

For passengers landing at the Abu Dhabi airport, Alitalia also offers the possibility of accessing Dubai - to be more specific from the “Dubai Bus Station at Chelsea Towers” - thanks to a “luxury coach” shuttle service offered in collaboration with Etihad and included in the price of the ticket. Furthermore, when leaving from Dubai, passengers can also check-in directly for their Alitalia flight at the Dubai Bus Station.
