Fast track service for the issue of visas to Italy at the new Beijing visa centre

The new Visa Application Centre and Spazio Italia of Beijing was inaugurated on 20 November by the Mayor of Milan Giuliano Pisapia in the presence of Italy’s Ambassador to China, Alberto Bradanini.

The new, highly innovative centre will help to speed up the visa issue procedure for Italy which, as pointed out by the Chinese consular delegation, was formerly much too lengthy .

"Now, thanks to the commitment of the Italian Embassy, the issue of documents will be guaranteed in just a short time. It will now be possible to obtain the necessary visa to enter both our city and Italy, either for tourism or business, in just three days. The relationships between the City of Milan and the People’s Republic of China will thus be further strengthened, also in anticipation of Expo 2015 in which this vast Asian country will play a key role. The Embassy’s commitment has already achieved significant results. We have all worked towards obtaining this objective and from today onwards we will be able to reach even more ambitious goals” declared Pisapia.

As explained by the mayor of Milan, the opening towards the rest of the world and China represents a key element for the economy of the country, for corporate competitiveness, to attract investments and for the exchange between different cultures. Furthermore, Italy is currently working alongside other European countries to simplify the procedures and regulations involved in visa issue, also in anticipation of Expo Milano 2015.
