Free Wi-Fi in the capital with Digit Roma: more than 700 public access points and loads of services offered

Thanks to the recent creation of a network of hotspots activated by the City of Rome, the capital now offers free Wi-Fi access. In fact, 170 places in the city now have 700 public Internet access points which, subject to registration, now offer four hours of free navigation a day.

Internet users, holding the SIM of an Italian operator, can now register on the the www.digitroma.it website from any mobile device (notebook, tablet or smartphone): 24 hours after identification, users will be able to make their first access (otherwise it is necessary to repeat the registration procedure).

A registration process that will enable those holding a foreign SIM to use the service will also be available in the near future

Conversely, no registration is necessary to access other services such as, for example, the one called  Intorno a te which offers news about the city and events, providing maps and suggestions about museums, hotels and restaurants in the vicinity based on the user’s geolocation.  Or the Roma sul web service which allows users to surf, with no time limit, the portals and institutional websites of Roma Capital (e.g. that of its Libraries, the city’s Police Force or the one dedicated to museums and exhibitions) offering information about public transport,  traffic, events, limited traffic zones, bike sharing services and more).
