Rimini’s Palacongressi hosts the annual Grand Oriente d'Italia event attended by more than 2,500 participants

More than 2,500 Masons from 791 Italian Lodges  took part in the annual Gran Loggia del Grande Oriente D’Italia (GOI) meeting, held from 5 to 7 April at Rimini’s  Palacongressi. The occasion not only included a rich events calendar but also meetings reserved for participants, several of which were also open to the public.

The multi-functional facility contributed to the success of the event whose spaces, atmosphere and decor mirrored the highly symbolic aspects of the occasion.

A large scale “Masonic Temple”, i.e. the meeting place found in each Italian Masonic Lodge, was reconstructed in the 2,400 sq.m. hall of the Piazza. The main room was divided into three parts inspired by the symbolic value of Masonic numerology, while the walls were decorated with the columns and symbols inherent in this esoteric culture.

The gala dinner, curated by Summertrade, the company owned by the Rimini Fiera group, recently honoured for the quality of its services with the  “2013 King of Catering Bisol” award, featured an unusual menu dedicated to the four elements of life: air, water, earth and fire.

Characterized by a shell-shaped amphitheatre capable of accommodating up to  1,600 delegates, Rimini’s Palacongressi is a versatile, multi-functional facility constructed with eco-compatible materials and low-impact, state-of-the art technology. The complex has 39 rooms, the main one of which is designed to host up to 4,700 people, for a total of 9,000 places, and a display area extending over a surface area of 11,000 square metres.
