“Leonardo3 – Il Mondo di Leonardo”, a 3D interactive exhibition (in English and Italian), dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci and developed and organized by centro studi Leonardo3 (L3), is currently being hosted in the prestigious Le Sale del Re of Milan’s Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
The exhibition, scheduled to run until 28 February 2014, is an interactive, multimedia tour in discovery of the Italian Renaissance genius, thanks to “never-seen-before” reconstructions of his machinery and digital restorations of his paintings in a first-ever world premiere. The exhibition features more than 200 3D interactive models of his machinery, including numerous unseen ones that were never built, meticulously recreated in full respect of the original project, based on the indications, notes and drawing contained in his most important manuscripts, Manuscript B, the Codex of Flight and the Codex Atlanticus. Thanks to state-of-the-art touch screens, visitors can turn the pages of the digital edition featuring more than 1,100 pages.
Located in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, with a reserved entrance from the corner of Piazza della Scala, accessible thanks to a private lift, Le Sale del Re, have been returned to their former glory following in-depth restoration work sponsored by the Alessandro Rosso Group in collaboration with the City of Milan and currently serve as a prestigious location for events, congresses, art exhibitions, etc. Consisting of five rooms, the location was formerly used for the official receptions hosted by the House of Savoy and, in addition to being embellished by stuccoes, paintings and 19th century decorations, are also fitted out with high-tech equipment and Wi-Fi coverage. The main room is designed to accommodate up to 110 spectators.
