The Gran Meliá Rome Villa Agrippina hotel, which opened in April last year, gained double recognition after being included in the Condé Nast Traveller Hot List 2013 of best facilities in the world opened in 2012 and in the Hot Spa ranking. The Rome-based hotel was picked from among more than 1,000 new hotel complexes evaluated on an international level.

Situated in Gianicolo, just moments away from the Vatican and Piazza San Pietro, the Grand Meliá Rome Villa Agrippina presents itself as a real  hotel-museum. The hotel, in fact, houses a number of archaeological relics found during construction work on the hotel which, it would appear, has been built on the remains of the house that is thought to have belonged to Agrippina, the mother of Roman Emperor Nero.

Surrounded by the Orti Domiziani, the first botanical garden in Rome, the 5-star hotel has 116 rooms and suites, including three meeting rooms, the largest of which is designed to accommodate up to 70 delegates, the exclusive YHI Wellness centre, two restaurants and an outdoor swimming pool with a Pool Lounge and Roof Garden boasting a view over the Eternal City.
