Italian hotels: Trivago looks at the most common and funny names

Europa, Belvedere, Eden, Bellavista… These are just some of the most popular names given to Italian hotels and accommodation facilities, based on a ranking drawn up by Trivago’s hotel search engine which allows users to compare hotel prices in just a few clicks from more than 150 online booking sites for over 600,000 hotels throughout the world.

The list ranges from the most common names mentioned above to other timeless examples such as Garden, Aurora, Miramonti, Centrale, Miramare and Cristallo, to funny, whimsical names invented and dreamt up by Italian hotel proprietors.

Among the most unusual we find “Ti vengo a cercare” (I’ll come and look for you), the name of an old Liguria-based dwelling listed as a bed&breakfast which reminds guests to settle their bill prior to check-out; “Ti Sana Detox” devoted to wellness and “Gugliel Motel” (William Tell Motel) which draws inspiration from the well-known historical character. Also worthy of note on account of its originality is the “Wool Street Hotel”, the “Sette Nani” (Seven Dwarves) as a tribute to Snow White and the “Sei a Roma” (Six in Rome) which reminds visitors that they are in the capital - Caput mundi.
