Italian agency Sinergie directs the complex event of multinational Covidien organized in Malta

15 locations requiring simultaneous management, 860 guests, 120 staff, more than 25 artists and 5 days of full immersion: these are the figures for the European meeting of  Covidien – Surgical Solutions Europe, a multinational specializing in healthcare products and solutions, organized in Malta by Italian agency Sinergie.

A highly complex event, involving monumental logistics which involved as many as six months’ organization and the skills of a large team of staff boasting not only creative but also operative skills. To make participation easier, Sinergie published the agenda listing all the events and meetings of the week on the web so that users could not only consult them online but also on smartphones and iPads.

The aim of the meeting, entitled New Horizons - shaping the future together was targeted both at the sales force and executive staff of the company hailing from all over Europe and the US, in a bid to communicate new guidelines and concepts fundamental to the future of the company as well as officially presenting the new partner companies of Covidien Europe and their products.

For five days, delegates attended meetings and conventions at a number of different locations scattered throughout the city, including hotels and convention facilities and, each day ended with a carefully studied entertainment programme. One evening, guests took part in a fun-filled Dine Around in 9 different restaurants, chosen on the basis of their country of origin; a second evening was animated by as many as three gala dinners in three different locations and the end of the event was marked by a final party at the MFCC-Malta Fairs and Convention Center with a dance performance and scintillating scenographic effects.

"It was a huge, extremely complex undertaking” - commented Davide Sestilli, Sales Director of Sinergie -. “The most critical points? Without a doubt gathering all the information and customer requirements to define the agenda and manage several locations, conventions and gala dinners simultaneously. However, at the end, we received countless congratulatory emails from the board. They defined the convention as the most successful until now. The challenge is now to exceed expectations next year!”.

Recently restructured, the Sinergie agency is comprised of four different divisions: Meeting, Incentives and Conventions (MIC), Events, Sales and Management.
