The Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria celebrates its 50th anniversary with an event inspired by “La Dolce Vita”

One of the most prestigious and luxurious hotels in the Capital, the Rome Cavalieri, Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts celebrated its 50th anniversary with an event inspired by the years of “La Dolce Vita”.
The hotel, which over the course of the years has hosted personages of the international jet set from heads of state to film stars, was opened on 19 June 1963, just days after the death of Pope John Paul XXIII.

Spectacular fireworks, nighttime performances by the Italian national team of synchronized swimmers and  aperitivi and cocktails, created by starred chef Heinz Beck, animated the evening of the hotel’s fiftieth anniversary and entertained the numerous guests and VIPs who attended the event.

Situated in the heart of Rome, just moments away from its historic centre, the Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria has 370 rooms, including 25 suites, and one of the largest hotel covention centres extending over a surface area of 8,700m2, on several levels. The 1,600m2 Salone dei Cavalieri is designed to accommodate up to  2,100 guests  and is set up like a theatre while the other 24 rooms  can hold up to a total of 5,500 people.

Other on-site amenities include the renowned La Pergola restaurant managed by chef Heinz Beck, an exclusive Spa featuring three outdoor swimming pools and one indoor one, and a private art collection which includes masterpieces by artists of the calibre of Giambattista Tiepolo and Andy Warhol.
