Milan guarantees a quality tourist system and, above all, it is ready for Expo: thus tourism operators promote the Lombard capital with a full 7 marks in hospitality. A city where visitors come always for shopping, even though the business clientele withholds and prevails still. Therefore, a sector in growth and with business increasing by 22%, according to the predictions of the same operators, during the Expo year.

This is what has emerged from a survey carried out by the Chamber of Commerce of Milan through Digicamere in May 2014 on a sample of 300 operators of the Milanese tourist sector (hotels, shops, bars and restaurants). The companies confirm compared to 2013 a 7 as a mark of the current tourist system of the city. The kind of tourism changes, however the most voted is shopping. According to the impression of the Milanese tourism businessmen, about one on three, business remains the major attractive for Milan and Province. But there are an increasing number of tourists interested in a shopping holiday (always according to a businessman on three).

Therefore shopping, culture, monuments are the prime attractive factor. These are the preferences: shopping (31.1%), culture (exhibitions, museums, concerts) (21.5%) and monuments (21.2%). The Cathedral, Castle and Gallery are in this order the local highlights that tourists don't miss visiting ever.
