Italian hotels, rates stable in 2013

In 2013, hotels in major Italian cities  registered few price variations compared to those registered in 2012.

 

The news was announced by Hrs, the online hotel booking giant, which detects price trends on a quarterly basis using its Price Radar system. 

 

The average price per night, calculated in 10 Italian cities (Milan, Turin, Genoa, Venice, Bolzano, Bologna, Florence, Rome, Naples and Palermo), in 2013 was around 94.51 euros. While on the subject of rates, Venice comes in with an average cost per night of 130.99 euros (+4.14% compared to 2012), while Turin registers a price increase of 3.61% at 87 euros per night. Conversely, in Milan and Rome, rates have remained more or less unvaried (+0.55% and 106 euros for Milan and +0.94% and 97 euros for Rome). On the contrary, prices are dropping in Genoa and Naples which registered the most significant decreases with an average price reduction of respectively 6.28% (88 euros) and 3.61% (72 euros) compared to 2012.
