Italian hotels are among the most expensive of Europe, second only to the French ones. This emerges from a survey by the trivago observatory, which has comparedthe prices of hotels in Italy with other 8 nations, and the result showed that the "tri-coloured" rates arrive to an average of 144 Euros per night (121% more that the cheaper Poland).

According to trivago in the classification dominated by France (with an average of 152 Euros per night) our Country beats the United Kingdom (139 Euros), Germany (112) and Spain (108). Italy is traditionally known for its hospitality and the high quality of its facilities, to which is also associated, however, even a high price.

The prices of 5 stars in Italy reach infact an average of 325 Euros, a difference of a substantial 127% compared to the 4 stars, the highest among the Countries taken into consideration. The trivago survey also shows the presence of the single hotel categories by nation: in Italy, on the total of hotels, a good 56% belongs to the 3 stars category which have an average price of 99 Euros per room per night, less than in the United Kingdom and France.

In the Czech Republic, 3 star hotels reach even 62% on the total hotel world, whereas in Portugal is the Country with the highest percentage of 4 and 5 star hotels of all.
