In 2014, Italy will host one of the main events of the meeting industry, the Mediterranean Chapter Summit. The annual meeting involves all ICCA members from Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, south-eastern France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, Morocco, Serbia and Turkey.

The location chosen for the event, to be held between the 2nd and 4th February, is Rome, precisely at the Marriott Park Hotel. The three days of work, structured in different moments of confrontation and numerous formative sessions, is co-ordinated by the three Pco AIM Group, Studio Ega and Triumph Group. As the President of ICCA Italian Committee Federica Lucini explains: “This will be a great opportunity for formation and networking for the experts of our meeting industry and at  the same time, it will give an effective visibility to Italy as a brand. This value has been totally understood by the important institutions that wanted to offer us their support. As has already been the case with Enit and Apt in the Lazio region”.

The programme for the meeting opens with the introduction by Bertrand Cabedoche, President of Orbicom (worldwide network of Unesco Presidents), on Mediterranean market evolution and with the round table Ideas move people, things and means presented by Pier Paolo Mariotti (Eurac) and the participation of Ante Jankovic (Jonkeping Convention Bureau – Sweden), Beat KUrze, Managing Director of the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale of Lausanne and Carlotta Ferrari, of Firenze Convention Bureau and vice-president of Federcongressi&eventi.

An interactive session with the organisers of great events will follow, and will be moderated by the ICCA CEO Martin Sirk. Worth pointing out is the report on sustainability issues by Patrizia Semprebene Buongiorno (vice-President of AIM Group) and a report on Governmental events by Maria Criscuolo (President of Triumph Group). To complete the programme will be sessions about the impact of culture on convention tourism regulated by Emma Aru, President of Ega and the participation of the CEO of ICCA Meditteranean Chapter, Elif Balci Fisunoglu, on destination marketing.

A very rich programme of social events: among the esclusive offers infact is scheduled a Gala Dinner in the beautiful setting of the historic abode of Villa Laetitia, with a gourmet menu by Ristorante Enoteca la Torre, Michelin star in 2010.
