Rome, Venice and Milan: the most loved Italian cities by foreigners

Even during the first semester 2014 arti Cities are confirmed as favourites by foreign tourists in Italy, for whatever reason of the trip, leisure or business. The ranking, obtained by the international portal Hotels.com, sees Rome still in a solid first place. Particularly, the Eternal City is first in the preferences of travellers coming from Russia, and is a much appreciated destination even by those coming from Argentina, France, Spain and the  United States, being in the top 5 of the most visited destinations of each of these Countries.

Following suite are Venice, with its bridges and alleys, and Milan, Capital of Fashion and above all of business for our Country. Florence and Sorrento remain stable, and close the top 5 respectively in fourth and fifth place. The Tuscan capital, the "hub of the Renaissance", remains as one of the most visited destinations by travellers from all over the world together with Sorrento, the pearl of the Amalfi Coast. Bologna and Naples are not subject to any variations, respectively in sixth and seventh place.

Verona and Alghero, on the other hand, enter the Top 10, spaced out by Pisa which positions itself immediately beneath the City of Romeo and Juliette. To close the Top 20 of the ranking of the most visited cities by foreign travellers during the first six months of 2014 are the following Italian Cities: Palermo, Turin, Genoa, Rimini, Taormina, Positano, Siena, Sirmione, Catania and Garda.
