Mandarin Oriental, superchic debut in Milan for Expo

Mandarin Oriental
Mandarin Oriental

It will open in 2015, alongside the Universal Exhibition, the first Italian hotel of the Asian chain Mandarin Oriental. Another point in favour of the Lombard metropolis, which is proving to be an appealing European destination not only for Expo, but also for the future thanks to fashion and design.

The new hotel, which promises to be very luxurious, will rise in the main centre: it will be built within three 19th century Palazzi in via Monte di Pietà, a few steps away from the design shopping quadrilateral. In total, it will offer 104 rooms, including 34 suites, and will make available to its guests even a holistic spa with swimming pool and wellness centre, cocktail bar and high class restaurants. Even though anticipations are still scarse, it is known that the Milanese 5 stars will have highest level technological equipment apart from exclusive convention centres and reception halls.

The Italian venue of Mandarin Oriental will also have an Italian General Manager: Luca Finardi has in fact been nominated at the head of the team that will manage the hotel. He will have to interpret and adapt to our market the famous style of Mandarin Oriental, a brand that manages some of the most beautiful hotels, resorts and residences of the world. Finardi has built a solid experience in high level hotellerie, at the Savoy in Florence and at the Belmond hotels (ex Orient Express) of Fiesole and Taormina. The objectives are ambitious: the five stars aims to be "the best hotel in the city", as declared by Christoph Mares, Executive Vice President and Director of Operations of the Group in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
