Milan world capital of luxury shopping

Milan beats all the other large metropolis of the world, at least as far as Fashion and luxury shopping is concerned. The city of Expo 2015, in fact, with its almost 6 million visitors per year, can boast among the capitals the highest average expenditure: 1,398 Euros against the 1,241 Euros of Paris, 1,240 Euros of London, the 978 Euros of Rome, 800 Dollars of New York and the 568 Dollars of Hong Kong. Why is easily explained: whoever choses Milan, apart from business, does so with the precise intention of shopping. 

This fact emerges from a research, commissioned by Sea to Pambianco Strategie di Impresa, on the impression and the value of the city of Milan as global destination for shopping. The research highlights even the local symbolic places to hoard up on fashion and design: apart from the fashion quadrilateral which is in first place for the average buy, with its 1,802 Euros in via Monte Napoleano and the 1,030 Euros in Via della Spiga, in second place is Milan Malpensa with an average expenditure of 701 Euros. Followed by the very central Corso Vittorio Emanuele (average expenditure of 370 Euros) and Corso Buenos Aires. 

The research also highlights how the luxury market, increased by 30% in the last 5 years, and registers predictions of average growth by 4% per year even for the coming 4 years. Another relevant aspect is that 37% of worldide luxury is today bought by tourists. An important indication for those organsing events in Milan, therefore is also: never let delagates go without taking them for a round of shopping.
