After opening up new archeological areas, Pompeii archeological site is now hosting private events and happenings, with an actual price list for planners and companies to refer to for prices and information. For example to rent the Amphitheater or the Forum it’s 15.000 euros, 10.000 for the Palestra Grande as well as the Teatro Grande. 5.000 euros will be enough to reserve the Quadriportico, the Basilica or the suburban thermal baths.
This price list, as the newspaper Il Mattino reports, is included in the rules and regulations required by Superintendent Massimo Osanna. The antique town’s remains will be soon hosting private events like exhibitions, concerts, congresses (wedding are not being considered), in a mindset of getting economic resources for maintenance and protection of the site.
Requests will be evaluated by a board “whose job is to examine requests and monitor compliance of authorized events ” reports Il Mattino. A control body “able to evaluate feasibility, quality and opportunity with respect to the archeological context in terms of both protection and image of the site” explained Osanna.
