Ground-breaking news for Italian aviation which has awarded its competitor the rights to fly between Milan Linate and Rome Fiumicino. Following a Landmark decision by the Italian Competition Authority (AGCM), low-cost carrier easyjet has been awarded the rights to fly between the two, above mentioned, destinations.
easyJet will operate from the two airports of Linate and Fiumicino with its fleet of Airbus 319s, guaranteeing five services a day between the two airports, thus making travel easier and more affordable on this vital route.
Flight departure times from the two airports will be concentrated in the morning and in the evening to enable business travellers to make the trip in just one day. The date of the launch of the flights on the Milan-Rome route will shortly be announced, with forecasts predicting start-up in early 2013.
