Starting from 1 November, Italian airline company, Alitalia will offer passengers travelling in Magnifica, its long-haul business class product, the best time-honoured recipes of Italian cuisine. In fact, over the next three months, aboard intercontinental flights from and to Italy, the company will offer a series of regional dishes that, over the past two years, have won the approval of intercontinental travellers.
Hence, Alitalia customers travelling on long-haul flights will have a chance to savour a Caprese Salad antipasto featuring PDO Buffalo Mozarella (Campania), an entrée of Agnolotti del “Plin” with a meat sauce (Piedmont), a main course of swordfish escalopes served with PGI Capers from Pantelleria (Sicily), a side dish of PGI Lentils from Castelluccio (Umbria) and to end, a ricotta dessert in a warm vanilla sauce (Marche). The meal will be accompanied by a selection of fine Italian wines in collaboration with the Italian Sommelier Association.
All products served in Magnifica class highlight Made-in-Italy products: from the ingredients used for their specialities, many of which carry PDO and PGI certification, to Richard Ginori cutlery and Frette pillows and tablecoths. Business class passengers will also receive a Bulgari amenity kit.
Let us not forget that for two consecutive years, in 2010 and 2011, Alitalia was nominated best airline in the world for the quality of meals served onboard by American monthly publication Global Traveler.
