A Way to Sicily is the name of the event scheduled to open tomorrow in Sicily designed to enable a number of select European buyers, 36 in all , hailing from Belgium, Lazio, the UK, France, Germany, Poland, Russia and Liechtenstein, to meet operators and learn about Sicilian venues and the MICE offer on the Island.
The initiative, organized by the UniCredit Group to promote the image of Italian businesses abroad in collaboration with the Sicilia Convention Bureau, will be held from 25 to 28 October and envisages one day dedicated to b2b meetings and one day dedicated to an educational tour enabling delegates to visit and gain a deeper appreciation of the destination.
On their arrival, on 25 October, the foreign delegates will be welcomed at the airport of Palermo where, after settling into their hotel, they will be taken on a tour of the city with highlights including a tasting experience of local specialities.
On the second day, pre-scheduled appointments between the buyers and Sicilian suppliers (approximately 62, including hotels and locations, agencies, DMC and event organizers) will be held at the old Sant’Erasmo Train Depot.
The whole of Saturday will be entirely dedicated to discovery of the area. The buyers, divided into three groups, will be taken to three different destinations: Palermo and the Normanna Coast, Trapani and its Salt Mines, Agrigent The Valley of Temples and Sciacca. At the end of the day, a farewell dinner, hosted by the Sicilia Convention Bureau, will be held at Villa Chiaramonte Bordonaro, in the centre of Palermo.
On Sunday, following a free morning’s sightseeing of the city of Palermo, participants will leave for their return trip home.
